Say what?

In describing Saddam Hussein as a “man who has delayed and denied and deceived the world,” President Bush was somewhat flubbed in a comment elaborating on that point…
“There is an old saying in Tennessee. I know it’s in Texas. They say, ‘Fool me once, shame on long pause of absolute silence you.’ You can fool me, but you can’t get fooled again.” – President George W. Bush, September 18, 2002

The old saying actually goes: “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.”
