All Along the Watchtower…

:42 #update #xpostspunkygidget

     1. DISASTER HITTING JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES.  The Governing Body board of the Watchtower organization over JWs long taught before all JWs who lived in the 1914 Generation died, the End would bring Jehovah God’s kingdom with paradise on earth where physically & mentally ill JWs would be healed & live forever.  By 2014 the Body had to teach that an Overlap Generation would. Many disappointed JWs went slack. In 2015 the Body had a Return To Jehovah campaign and 2016 Loyalty conventions with doomsday films and a talk saying loyal JWs should shun inactive JWs. Ghana’s JWs did not clap, elders quietly began helping others exit.  WT  reprimanded Nigerian elders for giving foes access to jw.org.  The foes sent documents to the Australian Royal Commission (ARC) investigating the WT policy of hiding pedophiles etc (1Cor 6:9-11) among JWs etc. Families quietly quit in Latin America & worldwide; grew their own independent Bible study groups in their homes teaching paradise kingdom blessings. Child custody judges disliked WT films inducing some to anxiety-panic attacks etc; on TV after the convention Adrian Karibian climbed Sydey Harbour Bridge to proclaim the End is about to hit.  The Body hustled for more money to weather the storm. For example they put ATMs in conventions, pushed JWs to make monthly auto bank withdrawls, used internet-fed JW TV to urge more donations, made cheaper, shorter, less quality literature, urged literature be downloaded more, laid off thousands of “Bethelite” staffers, dumped traveling City & District Overseers, compacted congregations, sold some halls & branches in nations including Spain’s newly built complex, sold the Brooklyn buildings sources says from $1 billion to $2 billion possibly 2 mostly to Jared Kushner (in-law of Donald Trump), built a paradise setting new headquarters near Warwick, NY on land that had had nickle contamination etc.  By 2016 two UK commissions were investigating WT in the UK over child abuse & charity fraud.  Germany also has begun a commission.

    2. THEY had JWs start shifting from doorstep preaching more to cart literature work.  Older long-loyal anointed (essentially born-agains hoping to go to heaven) in Brooklyn including Ted Jaracz’s widow called it a mistake at a private meeting so the Body told them to pack & leave though many had no family to return to as those had died; “concerned” younger Bethelites sent the Body word to find the older ones living arrangements or the story could get into the papers. The Body then helped them but word went to metro NYC congregations so that one JW TV talk at the end alluded to it indirectly and claimed if still alive GB members Barr and Jaracz would have backed the Body’s many changes. Barr did not like WTs drift. Jaracz’s support is doubtful; his dissenting widow died in 2015. Protests in & out of WT grow at Memorials of the Last Supper where only anointed JWs can partake. Elders at an Atlanta were told crowd in on “Jesus is God” protesters; the next day line up to block the view of them. See youtube, silentlambs.org, jwfacts.org & sixscreensofthewatchtower.

    3. FOES pointed out (youtube) JW TV showed Sam Herd with an expensive rolex watch, Gerritt Losch’s gem rings etc, so cameras have panned closer to faces to avoid JWs seeing those.  The Warwick compound includes an infirmary, underground parking lot, some hidden bunkers, copper roof shielding against RF surveillance. The Body want to approve more blood substitutes possibly after the 2 UK investigations.  Wealthy JWs tied to the No Blood Industry make donations, want to expand the business. The anti-transfusions blood policy has likely blocked millions from becoming JWs. In 2015 the Australian Royal Commission aired child abuse hearings with the Body’s Geoffrey Jackson saying we don’t shun or do corporal punishment.  His use of Theocratic Warfare verbal tactics was based on “we don’t shun but those shunned do it to themselves” & “parents choose the discipline.” Still, the ARC declared 77 deficiencies. The Body rejected the ARC’s suggestion of letting women attend Judicial Committees when female victims are questioned by all males including “repentent” pedophiles etc per 1Cor 6:9-11. Jackson gave scriptures against but the ARC senior counsel Angus Stewart countered with others. ARC is still exhibiting the normally secret Shepherd The Flock manual on its site where JW sisters worldwide can read it. More commission hearings will spark more news, legal actions or laws. Canada may get a commission. Marci Hamilton wants Congress to investigate or legislate to make all groups protect kids to stay tax exempt.

    4. BODY member Anthony Morris & other American speakers in 2015-16 went to London, Warsaw etc, & said Gog of Magog (governments) are causing Great Tribulation possibly to scare JWs to do more, bluff commission officials to back off, fearing a Jonestown type suicide. Elders have noted that Body to BOE letters have said have lists of loyal ones to hide in safe places. Many JWs have to-go bags ready, etc. WT anti-gay leafletting in Devon & Cornwall in the UK upset the LGBT group Stonewall in 2016 yet Bethelites allege Body member Sanderson is a Non-Practicing Gay. Losch & others got on the Body after telling parents of molested kids to “wait on Jehovah.” We don’t need Body members alleged pedophiles etc to believe in paradise etc. It soils Jehovah’s image when those let local pedophile elders and like ilk (1Cor 6:9-11) night stalk, spy on other JWs, phone & noise harass, key apostates cars. Google search for example youtube video “NEWS 5 INVESTIGATES: Sex offender going door-to-door” about perp Wayne Ivery in Colorado Springs. Please mail copies to JWs & others in the public.

A.) DID you know Raymond Franz while on the Governing Body of the Watchtower (WT) organization over Jehovah’s Witnesses (JWs) wrote Crisis Of Conscience & In Search Of Christian Freedom.  He learned all archaeologists agreed Jerusalem was destroyed in 587 BC instead of 607 BC but the Body refused to accept that since it meant their teaching Christ had returned invisibly in 1914 was wrong.  In the Jan 1, 1972 WT  magazine (p. 32) they made the Bedroom Law if a man had sex with another man or animal, his wife could not scripturally divorce him as there was no joining with another flesh to conceive.  They reversed it eventually; then when elders in a California congregation reported a couple for privately having literature & photos of non-missionary type sex, the Body ruled they must be disfellowshipped (shunned cruelly). WT magazines (Dec 1, 1972, Nov 15, 1974) banned married JW couples from non-missionary sex. The WT of Feb 15, 1978, reversed the Bedroom Law but the March 15, 1983 issue banned as “unnatural” oral intimacy including by JWs otherwise unable; also warned oral sex disqualifies male JWs from becoming elders, can lead to expulsion. The Bedroom Laws are rarely mentioned even among JWs to the Public or those talked into new Bible studies. Likely few to nobody would ever become a JW if the degree of invasiveness were known.

B.) FOR DECADES the Body banned JWs from alternative service in place of fighting. The Body once came within a vote of changing that; long after he was off the Body they changed & published it in the WT of May 1, 1996 but gave no apology to the many JWs who had had to serve prison time or their families. JWs in Malawi were attacked, raped, had homes and crops burnt in 1964, 1967, 1972, 1975 since the Body ruled they must not buy a cheap card saying they supported Malawi’s sole political party though Christ at Matthew 5:41 & Paul at Romans 13:7 said render what is due to governments.  Simultaneously they let Mexican JWs pay money to military officers to obtain cards saying untruthfully they had served in the military. Weak logic or racism? While preaching in kingdom halls against the UN, WT affiliated as an NGO 1991 to 2001; later claimed it was just to keep a UN library card.

C.) WT BRANCH heads at Athens in 1986 spied on 100+ exJWs who kept reading & discussing the Bible in homes. On April 6, 1987 some 50 met at the home of Nick & Eftihia Bozartzis.  Nick spotted two watching the house, one a JW he knew. As he approached they fled.  That Apr 9 the house-church group was to meet at Voula Kalokerinou home but instead decided to celebrate the Memorial on April 11. She spotted 5 men in a car across from her house the next 2 evenings; on the 11th an unknown car & van with back window papered except for a circle in the center. Men in the car went to talk to men in the van several times. A friend went to see what was going on and the car sped away but through the van’s circle he saw video camera equipment used by elder Nikolas Antoniou & branch elder Dimetre Zerdes. Others from her house & a policeman from the nearby Italian Embassy came.  The Bethelites had driven to a park to unload equipment; were arrested for invasion of privacy.  They lied to a D.A. named Kontaxis they were only there to film a relative of Zerdes.  In reality his cousin Eftihia Bozartzis had disassociated from WT or JWs 2 years before, meaning he had nothing to do with her so was lying.  The D.A. denounced the trampling on “human rights.”  Confiscated film showed Christian ExJWs entering the house church meeting, Bozartzis not even in the film. Later WT’s Awake! magazine blasted the Greek Orthodox Church for having a stadium to cancel a WT assembly possibly to make word about Watchtower reps being convicted of criminal conduct seem less believable to other JWs if they ever heard of it.

D.) HE REMINDED all awakening JWs & ExJWs that Acts 5:27-29 says “Obedience to God comes before obedience to men” including Governing Body men. Christianity is a “way of life” which include “sacred services” like day & night acts of kindness, parents raising happy children to do right, husbands keeping marriage honorable and working whole-souled as to God, wives known for “hospitality, kindness and neighborliness, all looking after orphans, widows & others in need.  Franz also noted Christ said he is present when even “two or three” Christians gather.  Though WT says JWs must believe & all things the Body says, Paul says “be united in the same mind and the same purpose,” but not to be totally uniform like robots, also true unity is when Christians are free to have some different views (Romans 14) yet be united by Love which is the only “perfect bond of union.” (Col 3:14)  The Bible says follow the Lamb (Christ), obey God not Watchtower men.  Apostolic authority today is not from successors of apostles or other men but the scriptures the apostles wrote to help us. Raymond Franz died in 2010 but noted Christian ExJWs can as needed fellowship while staying loyal to God in their homes; there are friendly churches of similar beliefs like some Adventist groups, some independent Baptist churches etc.  The internet, Facebook, free international phone conferences etc also offer new ways to meet via the internet. Groups showing real love grow.  Nobody needs WT to preach kingdom blessings, show loving-kindness. In 2016 WT was battered by its many past failed prophecies, governments investigating the hiding & sheltering of pedophiles etc.  Freeminds.org, sixscreensofthewatchtower, silentlambs.org, jwfacts.com. Jehovah’s Witnesses and Child Abuse—Is there a problem?

News reports claim that the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, the official name for the organization that governs the Jehovah’s Witnesses worldwide, has been engaged in covering up child abuse within the religion on a massive scale.

But are these reports justified? Is this a case of an innocent religion being unfairly maligned because of the actions of one or two bad apples in their ranks? How many victims are there? Do the Governing Body know about these issues? What’s really going in the multiple courtroom cases that Watchtower has been fighting across the world?

Jehovah’s Witnesses and Child Abuse—Is there a problem?  is a painstakingly researched documentary that draws together evidence from sources spanning the past twenty five years…

Watching the Watchtower

“Another way we can contribute to the oneness: rejecting false stories that are designed to separate us from Jehovah’s organization. As an example, think about the apostate-driven lies and dishonesties that Jehovah’s organization is permissive toward pedophiles. I mean, that is ridiculous, isn’t it! If anybody takes action against someone who would threaten our young ones, and takes action to protect our young ones, it is Jehovah’s organization. We reject outright such lies.”

Lett’s talk about the Watchtower budget with more expenditures than income, the new fixed monthly “donation arrangement” for “kingdom hall” construction, and the amount of money involved in Warwick

While Lett encourages Jehovah’s Witnesses to “honor Jehovah with your valuable things”…”a small donation from each of many of Jehovah’s people add’s up to a large amount of dedicated funds that can be used powerfully by Jehovah’s organization.”

See also, Jehovah’s Witnesses shield child sex abusers from police“.

What are some ways that we can be generous toward JehovahWe can also be generous toward Jehovah. “Honor Jehovah with your valuable things,” admonish the Scriptures. (Prov. 3:9) Those “valuable things” include our time, energy, and resources, which we can freely spend in his service.

Even young children can learn to be generous toward Jehovah. “When our family makes a donation at the Kingdom Hall, we let our children put the money in the contribution box,” says their father, Jason. “They enjoy it because, as they put it, they’re ‘giving something to Jehovah.’”Children who experience the joy of giving to Jehovah while they are young are likely to continue being generous toward him in adulthood.Prov. 22:6.

NBC News, New York, reports that “the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the door-knocking religious group that’s been based in Brooklyn for a century, is selling its headquarters and other properties for an expected price tag of $1 billion or more.”

The Watchtower Society writes, Having sufficient, adequate places of worship is vital, as Jehovah continues to ‘speed up’ the gathering of ‘a mighty nation. In order to meet these ever increasing needs, the Governing Body has directed that an adjustment be made in the way Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction projects are financed. In harmony with 2 Corinthians 8:12-14, congregations will now be asked to pool their resources worldwide to support the construction of theocratic facilities wherever they are needed. …all congregations will have the opportunity to support Kingdom Hall and Assembly Hall construction work worldwide by resolving to make a monthly donation from congregation funds.

Tucker Reed, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, called $1 billion “a conservative estimate” for the Witnesses’ real estate portfolio. If sale of the December 2015 list property brings the “expected price tag of $1 billion” or more as reported by the news media, then the total Brooklyn, NY based property sales for this non-profit since beginning the move to Warwick in 2004 will be almost $2 billion dollars. (See table below.)

Legal and Liability Distinctions
Particularly since 2000, Jehovah’s Witnesses have maintained a distinction between their corporations and their volunteer religious organization.

In 2001 the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York was listed among the top forty revenue-generating companies in New York City, reporting an annual revenue of about $951 million US dollars. [See Wikipedia]

2001 Watchtower Revenue $951 million average print run of ~46 million per month

Meanwhile from 2005 to 2013 there was a 39% reduction in pages of printed content (see table below), and now there is now a push to use digital technology as a means to access their online content rather than reliance on printed materials.

Watchtower Accounting

The number of Jehovah’s Witnesses participating in collecting donations in the worldwide preaching work has increased since 2001, while producing and printing magazine content has been reduced to minimal cost.

  1. Total Revenue / Donations = $1 Billion annually
  2. + Property Sales Banked = $1 Billion (2004-2015)
  3. + Property Sales Expected = $1 Billion (2016)
  4. = Someone needs to balance their budget
  5. Pedophile Case Settlements

Watchtower Pedophile Cases Settlements

Candace Conti, victim of Jehovah's Witness child sexual abuse

Candace Conti, victim of Jehovah’s Witness child sexual abuse

A California jury awarded Candace Conti $28 million in damages in a case against the Jehovah’s Witnessesthe largest verdict for a single victim of child abuse against a religious organization in U.S. history.

The amount was later reduced to $15.6 million, including $8.6 million in punitive damages…

Now, years later, an appeals court has eroded her courtroom victory even further by ruling that the leadership of the Jehovah’s Witnesses had no duty to warn congregants that a confessed child molester was one of their own.

The decision by the California Court of Appeal is the latest ruling in a rash of lawsuits aimed at Jehovah’s Witnesses policies directing elders to keep child abuse secret from their congregations and secular authorities.

As a result, judges eliminated the punitive damages in the case. Still, Conti stands to receive $2.8 million.

There were also several other cases settled in Southern California for unspecified millions.

  1. Jehovah’s Witnesses Ordered to Pay $13.5M to Bible Teacher’s Alleged Victim
  2. Jehovah’s Witnesses pay to settle nine cases, without admitting wrongdoing: all involved men the church allegedly knew had sexually abused children.  The settlements for those cases are confidential and filed under seal. However, NBC News has obtained a copy of one of the settlements from the McLean lawsuit, and it may offer an indication of the potential magnitude of the payouts. According to the court record, the church agreed to pay $781,250 to the accuser, who claimed McLean abused her from age 3 to age 9.  (After legal fees and other costs, the accuser was set to receive approximately $530,000.) In all, the nine settled lawsuits involved 16 victims and eight alleged abusers, all of whom – except Frederick McLean – have been criminally convicted.

Still, that’s not much compared to annual donation revenue from fixed monthly donations to the kingdom hall building work and donations collected to support the worldwide preaching work  + capital gains from property sales.

Plus, as a non-profit, the Watchtower doesn’t follow the same tax rules as a corporation.

Meanwhile over in the UK, the Charity Commission has opened an operational compliance case on a Jehovah’s Witnesses congregation in Wales after Mark Sewell was found guilty of numerous sex offenses. Seven charges of indecent assault against adults and minors, and one of rape; the crimes took place between 1985 and 1995.

A spokeswoman for the commission said the regulator was aware of the situation. “We have opened an operational compliance case on the charity,” she said.

“The Charity Commission’s regulatory concern is whether the trustees of the charity have complied with and fulfilled their duties and responsibilities as trustees under charity law and how the charity dealt with risks to the charity and its beneficiaries, including the application of safeguarding policy and procedures. We cannot comment further while the case is live.”

She said the case would be conducted independently of two statutory inquiries into Jehovah’s Witnesses charities opened last month in relation to issues including child protection.

On 10 June 2015, the regulator announced that it was investigating the Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain, the religion’s governing body.

A spokesman for the Watch Tower Society asked for all media enquiries to be directed to the governing body. Which governing body?

In the United States, congregations are set up as non-profit corporations with three elders from the congregation that has the property. The elders are only trustees and do not own anything nor does the congregation. If any of these elders are removed or step down, die, or move outside this congregation, another trustee is appointed by the body of elders (BOE).

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is governed by the laws for non-profit corporations set up by the IRS in the United States. Nonprofit corporations are businesses that don’t allow ownership and do not have an appreciation of stock or dividend distribution.

Even if the Watchtower were dissolved “as governments turn on religion, the nonprofit organization is not “owned” by the person or persons that started it. It is a public organization that belongs to the public at-large. The parties responsible to operate the organization for the stakeholders are the members of the board of directors.

Also, a nonprofit corporation cannot be sold. If a nonprofit corporation were to “close down”, or dissolve, the board of directors of the nonprofit must distribute all of the nonprofit’s assets to another nonprofit corporation after all debts have been settled.

If a congregation (corporation) is dissolved, the property reverts to the parent non-profit corporation—the Watchtower Tract Society.

Also, Watchtower congregation’s circuit or district overseer may request to sell a property and be denied.

For instance, the loan on the Menlo Park, California Kingdom Hall was granted by a private individual, thus Watchtower Society (WTS) had no lien on the property.

The loan was paid in full in 2009 and the property now worth $2.2 million was owned free and clear by an independent California corporation called The Menlo Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses Inc.

The big issues here are the structure of the Watchtower Society and ownership of Kingdom Halls, or the individual, local church buildings where the congregations meet.

Among many changes to establish legal interest was to start getting recorded on deeds as the first position lien holder when making remodel and quick build loans. The Society also started a group insurance program for all Kingdom Halls, ostensibly to provide lower cost premiums, but also this showed an interest in each property.

The Watchtower Society argued that it was indeed a hierarchy, something it had denied for years.

The Society than proceeded to structure things so it actually owned and had title to each Kingdom Hall.

When any Congregation decides to build a Kingdom Hall, upon approval from The Watchtower headquarters, of course, the Watchtower Society will fund it, holding a mortgage which the congregation will eventually pay back in regular monthly payments, like you pay for your house.

The big difference is that when you get done making payments, your house is yours. When the Jehovah’s Witnesses congregations finish making payments, the Kingdom Hall belongs to the Watchtower Society.

  1. Watchtower remodel loan with lien holder stipulation
  2. Kingdom Halls Remodel
  3. Congregation pay off loan
  4. Watchtower dissolves or merges congregation
  5. Sells the Kingdom Hall Watchtower Society property =
  6. $2.2 million in the Menlo Park case.

However, the local Elders/Corporate Officers of Menlo Park Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses Inc. did not agree to remodel, and they refused the Watchtower loan.

This Menlo Park Congregation/Corporation was formed without by-laws and as such the local corporate laws apply: as one person said, “the WTS has no more right to take over this independent corporation then they do Saint Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco.”

The Watchtower responded by removing and replacing those local Menlo Park congregation elders.

Under California law, there is no requirement for the Officers of an independent corporation to also be Jehovah’s Witnesses or Elders. Therefore, while you can remove them as elders, you can not legally remove them from their positions on the corporate board.

Watchtower 1971 Organization Chart

Perhaps the most poignant moment from the Menlo Park case came when Watchtower’s legal representative, Calvin Rouse, made the following declaration in court…

“Ordinarily I wouldn’t be here, but this is one of our 13,000 congregations in the United States. We are a hierarchical religion structured just like the Catholic Church. And when the order from the Pope comes down in the church defrocking a priest and kicking him out, he no longer has any say in any matter in the local parish priest – in the parish. The same situation as here. In his complaint he brings one claim. He claims that he wants to be reinstated as a director and an officer in the Menlo Park Congregation. This is contrary to our church rules and regulations and bylaws. We brought our organizational bylaws book, our rule book here, and we are prepared to present witnesses that this is a hierarchical organization.” — court transcript

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is one of the largest private development companies in the world, in possession of over 80,000 properties worldwide. (According to the Watchtower LDC meeting, Patterson, Nov 15-18, 2014)

Again, all by volunteers and donations—no employees expenditures like social security, health and life insurance, nor taxes, etc.

Imagine if the parent non-profit corporation discerned it was pertinent, given the times, for the congregations to go underground?

Now, remember, the broadcast is to give Jehovah your valuable things because the Watchtower has more expenditures than incomewhy?

http://thetruthandthewatchtower.tumblr.com/post/76367049643/we-must-obey-jehovah-no-matter-what-he-asks-us-to

Did leaders of Jehovah’s Witnesses cover up child sex abuse? PBS NewsHour special correspondent Trey Bundy of the CIR’s Reveal reports on how the Watchtower organization is using the first amendment to fight these charges.

In the United States, the Watchtower Defendants in the Candace Conti case have now lodged an appeal the case with four main arguments:

  1. The WBTS argues that other agencies—the police and Candace’s parents—should share the cost of damages yet, the Watchtower processes and policies prevented the parents from being able to act in full knowledge, and prevented or obstructed justice.
  2. Religious bodies should not be made to disclose confidentialities, even where a crime has been committed and revealed, as this would contravene the First Amendment… but what about where it’s a crime being reported? Shouldn’t they let the family know that suspected crimes should be reported the police—the subjective, or relative, authorities—for criminal investigation? The spiritual matter may be handled by the congregation membership following their judicial processes, but this should not supersede criminal investigation process, as reinforced by both law and scripture. Should the case be murder, suddenly we wouldn’t be debating the topic of how to ‘handle’ the ‘situation’. Why is pedophila held to a different standard?
  3. That Kendrick was not convicted of sexual abuse in a court. Therefore, had the Watchtower made public his deviation, they would have violated his right to privacy. Supporting your flock in going to the police isn’t going ‘public’. The society has been preventing the criminal investigation process from being able to serve justice and protect the public. Conti found Kendrick years later on a registered sex offender list: the result of the criminal justice system.
  4. In addition, the Watchtower argues there was no evidence of malice {the intention or desire to do evil; ill will; Law: wrongful intention, especially as increasing the guilt of certain offenses} and therefore the damages were unjust and should be reduced.

“If therefore you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has anything against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are with him on the way; lest perhaps the prosecutor deliver you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison. Most certainly I tell you, you shall by no means get out of there, until you have paid the last penny.

“Would you disagree then with anyone who said that the efforts to highlight and deal with child sexual abuse in the church is engaging in apostate lies?” — Asked Australia’s royal commission into institutional responses to child sexual abuse of Geoffrey Jackson, Watchtower governing body member.

Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse
The Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse was established in 2013 by the Australian government pursuant to the Royal Commissions Act 1902 (Commonwealth) to inquire into and report upon responses by institutions to instances and allegations of child abuse in Australia. The establishment of the commission followed revelations of child abusers being moved from place to place instead of their abuse and crimes being reported.

In summary, the Watchtower tells of when the world’s religious system will turn on Babylon the Great who symbolizes ‘false religion’. Meanwhile, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who claim to be no part of Christendom, have been making headlines for selling chunks of their sizable Brooklyn holdings in preparation for a move upstate to their new world headquarters in Warwick.

The organization, which has been headquartered in Brooklyn Heights since 1909, owned 42 Brooklyn buildings before it began selling them off in 2004. And according to city records, it’s sold $425 million worth of New York City property since then — not including around $100 million of properties in contract, according to published reports.

By comparison, the organization’s new 253-acre campus in Warwick, N.Y., will cost an estimated $11.5 million to build.

As reported by the Watchtower’s Awake magazine, “By the end of 2004, three Catholic dioceses in the United States had filed for bankruptcy. All three were forced to take this step because of the financial costs of clergy sexual abuse scandals. A number of dioceses have talked about the possibility of having to file for bankruptcy, but the first to do so was the Archdiocese of Portland, Oregon, in July 2004. That action halted two lawsuits in which plaintiffs were seeking a total of $155 million in compensation for molestation. According to the National Catholic Reporter, “the archdiocese and its insurers already have paid more than $53 million to settle more than 130 claims by people who say they were abused by priests.” In September 2004, the diocese of Tucson, Arizona, became the second diocese to seek bankruptcy protection from multimillion dollar claims being brought against it. The diocese of Spokane, Washington, became the third, in December 2004.”

According to a spokesperson for the Witnesses, 18 properties remain. Those properties include 25 Columbia Heights and a large parcel between Vine Street and Columbia Heights in the Brooklyn Heights area, as well as massive Dumbo site 85 Jay Street, which is zoned for residential development.

The group’s $1 billion portfolio of buildings — which also includes holdings in the East Village — has been marketed variously by Massey Knakal, Cushman & Wakefield, and Eastern Consolidated. This past July, a partnership led by Jared Kushner’s Kushner Companies and Aby Rosen’s RFR Holdings announced that it was buying six Dumbo buildings totaling 1.2 million square feet from the Witnesses for $375 million. The industrial buildings will be developed into loft-style office space. The deal is set to be Brooklyn’s largest this year.

The Watchtower places children in the organization at significant risk for sexual abuse

Meanwhile the Royal Australian Commission find that the practices and procedures of the Jehovah’s Witness organization for the prevention of child sexual abuse, and in particular for the management of the risk of an abuser reoffending, do not take account of the actual risk of an offender reoffending and accordingly place children in the organization at significant risk of sexual abuse.

Royal Commission findings on Watchtower shunning

Members of the Jehovah’s Witness organization who no longer want to be subject to the organization’s rules and discipline have no alternative than to leave the organization which requires that they disassociate from it.

The Jehovah’s Witness organization’s policy of requiring its adherents to actively shun those who leave the organization:

  1. makes it extremely difficult for someone to leave the organization.
  2. is cruel on those who leave and on their friends and family who remain behind
  3. is particularly cruel on those who have suffered child sexual abuse in the organization and who wish to leave because they feel that their complaints about it have not been adequately dealt with
  4. is not apparently justified by the Scriptures which are cited in support of it
  5. is adopted and enforced in order to prevent people from leaving the organization and
thereby to maintain its membership, and
  6. is in conflict with the organization’s professed support for freedom of religious choice and
the belief that Jehovah God is a compassionate God who recognizes the worth and dignity of all human beings.

Luke 18 One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up…

“There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’”

Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

Isaiah 10

Woe to those who make unjust laws,
to those who issue oppressive decrees,

to deprive the poor of their rights
and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people,

making widows their prey
and robbing the fatherless

What will you do on the day of reckoning,
when disaster comes from afar?

To whom will you run for help?
Where will you leave your riches?

Get out of her my people…! (Rev 18:4, Jer 51:45)

Nothing will remain but to cringe among the captives
—or fall among the slain.

Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away,
his hand is still upraised.

Catholic sex abuse: UN blasts Vatican for failing to protect children from paedophile priests

“Why is there no mandatory reporting to a country’s judicial authorities when crimes occur? Taking actions against perpetrators is part of justice.”

Monsignor Charles Scicluna, the Vatican’s former chief sex crimes prosecutor, denied that the Holy See encourage cover-ups.

“Our guideline has always been that domestic law of the countries where the churches operate needs to be followed,” he said.

Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Vatican’s representative in Geneva, said that the Holy See welcomed any suggestions, which could help it in protecting children.

Since his election last year, Pope Francis has appeared to offer new hope to victims, with a call for action on sex abuse in the Church. Under his papacy, a Vatican committee has been set up to fight sexual abuse and help victims.

In a report by Vatican Radio, the Pope asked for forgiveness for the “evil” damage to children caused by sexual abusers in the clergy and said “sanctions” would be imposed.

After a spate of new cases in 2010, the Vatican issued new rules saying bishops should report suspected cases of abuse to local police, if required to do so by law.

The UN’s Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC) said the Vatican Holy See had not acknowledged the extent of crimes committed and had not taken the measures necessary to address cases of child sexual abuse and to protect children.

Reacting to the UN report in February, Barbara Blaine, the president of Snap (Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests), said it was clear that the Vatican had put the reputation of Church officials above protection of children.

“Despite all the rhetoric from Pope Francis and Vatican officials, they refuse to take action that will make this stop.” she said.

Watchtower Society Building Beth’el on Toxic Dump

Fullscreen_12_12_15__7_01_AM-Watchtower-Toxic-Society

Toxins cause leukemia, at least according to Mr. Rob0t,” Angela warns the volunteers working for ‘the Society’ at their new headquarters in upstate New York. Concerns are that while the Watchtower Society may be able to protect their vested interests in the property and it’s financial value, they cannot protect their volunteers from exposure to the toxic chemicals.

This is the story of how Brooklyn “Beth’el” became “Warwick“.

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society began as simple American religion financed by William Henry Conley (11 June 1840 – 25 July 1897). William was trained by his uncle in the printing business for ten years, and was a Pittsburgh philanthropist and industrialist. He was married to Sarah Shaffer (1841–1908). Together, they provided organizational and financial support to religious institutions in the United States.

William Conley was the first president of Zion’s Watch Tower Tract Society, from 1881 to 1884.

In December 1884, the Society was incorporated with Charles Taze Russell as president.

In 1896, the Society was renamed Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, and later became associated with Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In April 1909, the Watchtower moved to Brooklyn, New York.

In 2004 the Watchtower, the society began moving their headquarters after more than 100 years in Brooklyn, NY.

The new headquarters in Warwick, New York is being built by volunteer Jehovah’s Witnesses, such as my parents Arlene and Melvin Baxley (pictured above).

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society is suing International Nickel and several of its affiliates, which it accuses of contaminating land where the religious group is now building its massive 1.6 million-square-foot world headquarters. Watchtower is seeking unspecified reimbursement for the cost it has incurred in the cleanup and remediation. It is also seeking damages, restitution and attorney fees.

In 2011 it was reported that the Watchtower Society was being Investigated for Illegal Toxic Dumping in Hudson Valley Watershed. Continue reading

God told the nation of Israel, “Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary”.

They were warned, “But if you do not obey Me, and do not observe all these commandments, … I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you…”

Wifely Subjection—Mental Health Issues in Jehovah’s Witnesses Watchtower Women

Wifely Subjection: Mental Health Issues in Jehovah’s Witness Women

Kaynor J. Weishaupt, M.S., M.F.C.C.

Abstract

The Watchtower Society, commonly referred to as Jehovah’s Witnesses, exerts a great deal of control over the everyday life of its members. Women, in particular, suffer from psychological stresses in this high-control environment, as it is also a culture where patriarchal attitudes limit women’s personal power and predominate in their relationships with men. A group of women responded to a questionnaire about their experiences during membership in the Watchtower Society and after leaving. The results indicate that while in the Watchtower Society, women experience a higher degree of mental health problems than they do after they leave the group. They also report experiencing more egalitarian attitudes in their relationships with men after exiting the group.

Little research has been done focusing on the experience of women in “high-control” or cultic groups, despite the fact that women make up a large proportion of the membership of such groups. The type of group referred to here as high-control is defined by the degree of control and restriction the group exercises over the everyday life of its membership. Such a group can be focused on religion, politics, militarism, psychotherapy, meditation, commercialism, or simply a “special” leader (Tobias & Lalich, 1994). A high-control group differs from other groups in that individual behavior is excessively limited by rules and regulations, access to information is restricted or managed (especially information critical of the group), pressure is high to conform in thought and behavior to group norms, and members must put the group’s interests before their own. The leadership in this type of group is absolute and considered infallible; outsiders are generally viewed as dangerous or evil; and members leaving the group are generally punished or shunned. While all members of such groups pay a psychological price (as well as reap certain psychological dividends, such as a sense of belonging and purpose), women often face particular difficulties in groups that are patriarchally based.

This article explores the relationship between women and the high-control social climate of the Watchtower Society (WTS), commonly referred to as Jehovah’s Witnesses. The article reviews literature bearing on the Watchtower Society’s control practices and patriarchal organizational structure, analyzes psychological implications of WTS’s social climate, and reports on the results of a survey of 20 female former members of the Watchtower Society. The survey explored three areas: (1) the degree of patriarchal versus egalitarian attitudes subjects felt existed while they were members of WTS compared to what they experienced after having left the group, (2) subjects’ perceived psychological distress while in the group and after exiting, and (3) subjects’ perceptions of the degree to which the group controlled everyday life and isolated members from outsiders. The latter area included a comparison group of women from other religious backgrounds.

WATER retention rates — RE-legions

Come Out of Her My People

The “De-Churching” of America

The number of Americans claiming no religious affiliation has quadrupled since 1990. Yet what religion had the lowest retention rate of any? Perhaps shockingly the Atheist “retention rate” was the lowest among the 20 separate categories in the study.

Still, in 2005 only 17 percent of Americans attended a religious service Sunday morning.

According to a study by Georgetown University’s Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA), “those who grow up in an atheist household are least likely to maintain their beliefs about religion as adults.”

Jehovah’s Witnesses have the next lowest retention rate at 37 percent. Continue reading

For the record, you don’t lose your faith when you stop believing God is Jehovah. But Melissa doesn’t know what losing my religion is all about. Girl, I was a hoarder, and I still am though that was back then. Show you a few things, pretend to be my friend? But hey, I haven’t got time to buy a new deodarant stick of Tom’s every two months — so I use it but it doesn’t work. I have no cash and thus I stink and am not buying it on Amazon and paying for shipping. So I am waiting until someone thinks I stink enough to do something about it. I mean the internet is for porn, right?

Well anyhoo, distracted again from that to get the video to prove the point that I’m not lost on how I feel about life, I’m just so DAMNED tired of having to stay up all night to work against all of you.

So I /quit.

Yeah, see I’m not a cultural fit. I’m not a woman in technology and there’s no way come hell or high water, well—we all know which—I would never have a daughter, as I could never let her see this world. Dear God, preserve my seed within me. Save my belly for the beast. I am yours and have ever been devoted. I am sorry for so long I thought that the Watchtower’s disapproval of me was somehow was the directive from God. Dear God, if you don’t love me—Um? Who could you?

Yehowah vs. Jehovah, The God of the Freemasons

“Jehovah is, of all the significant words of Freemasonry, by far the most important. Reghellini very properly calls it ‘the basis of our dogma and of our mysteries.’” — Encyclopedia of Freemasonry

Jehovah in An Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry and its Kindred Sciences: Comprising the Whole Range of Arts, Sciences and Literature as Connected with the Institution (1874) by Albert Gallatin Mackey, pg 370-381

Jehovah in An Encyclopaedia of Freemasonry (1874) by Albert Gallatin Mackey, pg 370-381

God first introduced himself to his nation of chosen people, and Moses, as “I AM”.

Moses said to God, “Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I will say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you.’ Now they may say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.'” — Exodus 3:13,14

Further in the holy inspired scriptures, he says repeatedly “I AM” and “THERE IS NO OTHER.” (Isaiah 45:6,18,22; Isaiah 46:9) There is no God besides he. (Deuteronomy 32:39, Hosea 13:4, Joel 2:27)

“You are my witnesses,” declares YHWH, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, I am YHWH, and besides me there is no savior.” — Isaiah 43:10,11

However, there is another who claims the same, “I AM”:

“But these two things will come on you suddenly in one day: Loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in full measure In spite of your many sorceries, In spite of the great power of your spells.

“You felt secure in your wickedness and said, ‘No one sees me,’ Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have deluded you; For you have said in your heart, ‘I am, and there is no one besides me.’

“But evil will come on you Which you will not know how to charm away; And disaster will fall on you For which you cannot atone; And destruction about which you do not know Will come on you suddenly.…” — Isaiah 47:9-11, The Fall of Babylon Predicted

Note the word “disaster” in the verse above—in Hebrew the word is “hovah”.

Yes, the woman of Babylon, later identified in Revelation as the mysterious woman “Babylon the Great” says that she is “I AM” and “there is no other besides me” standing in the place of God.

Revelation 18 details the Fall of Babylon the Great, saying:

“Come away from her, my people.
Do not take part in her sins,
or you will be punished with her…

She boasted in her heart,
‘I am queen on my throne.
I am no helpless widow,
and I have no reason to mourn.’

…and you deceived the nations with your sorceries.”

Yes, Babylonian worship led to the ancient city being destroyed long ago, and this false worship today will lead to spiritual destruction. She says, “I AM” whereas we know that God is and there is no other God besides him.

Further, we must recall that “hovah” is a Hebrew word associated with this very passage of Babylon’s destruction, and again in the destruction of those deceived by her. In Ezekiel, the word “hovah” is translated calamity:

Calamity [hovah] will follow calamity [hovah]… Then they will know that I am YHWH.”—Ezekiel 7:26,27

While Satan is known as Deception, Babylon is known for her mystery religion and blasphemies against God. One may recognize that the Greek word for slander is blasphemy.

So the angel took me in the Spirit into the wilderness. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that had seven heads and ten horns, and blasphemies against God were written all over it… and upon her forehead was a name written: ‘Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of the Whores, and the Abominations of the earth.’

As noted in the outset, the Encyclopedia of the Freemason’s clearly states “Jehovah” is the most important word and the basis of their dogma and “mysteries”. Freemasonry has been shown by it’s use of symbols to be directly taken from the ancient Babylonia mystery religion for which that city was destroyed.

Now, “Jehovah” is used as the god of this modern religion, as well as finding it’s way into many modern bible translations. While the use of the letter “J” is a modern invention (it originally being a decorative letter “I”), the origin of this word comes back to Babylon in scriptures, as shown above.

The Lost Word of Freemasonry By Hilton Hotem

The Lost Word of Freemasonry By Hilton Hotem

Ya-ho-vah as it is pronounced or “Ya-hovah” is close to the Tetragrammaton YHWH, as it differs in sound and in one letter. However, what a difference this subtle difference, of just a sound and a letter, makes! “Yah” refers to God in a shortened form, and thus many say “Ya-hovah” is the “God of Destruction”, surely a blasphemous designation for the eternal and personal name of our loving creator and Father.

1943: hovah

1943: hovah, and it’s related 1942: havvah

The Hebrew word “howah” on which YHWH is based means “causes to become” and refers to the breath, as in the breath of life.

Jewish scholars such as Maimonides (1138-1204) affirmed that the Tetragrammaton was pronounced according to its letters as YeHoWaH.

Carefully considering these two Hebrew words, and their use in scriptures clearly delineates between she who claims “I AM” and He who is the “I AM”—and there is no other.

1933

Strong’s 1933: The origin of the meaning of God’s name YHWH

Despite correctly noting the origin of YHWH as “to become” (“havah” or “hawah“), the Watchtower of Jehovah’s Witnesses—as the Freemason’s—claim “Jehovah” name as the personal name of God, based on the word “hovah“.

The New World Translation Bible Reference Edition notes, “The text located in the U.S.S.R., namely, the Codex Leningrad B 19A, used for Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia (BHS), vowel-points the Tetragrammaton to read…Yeho·wah′, as in Ge 3:14. The edition of the Hebrew text by Ginsburg (Gins.) vowel-points YHWH to read Yeho·wah′.”

While the Watchtower condemns the Roman Catholic Church as being a part of Babylon the Great, it is known that the construction of this modern name came from a Catholic monk, and as shown above, is a blasphemous name rooted in the condemnation of Babylon herself and her sorceries.

“Come away from her, my people.
Do not take part in her sins,
or you will be punished with her…

Mr. Zalkin,

I have been considering reaching out to you regarding my own personal experience with the Watchtower. I’m 33 years old, and was baptized as a JW at 12 years of age. I married ‘a brother’ the night before I turned 17, and subsequently was abused for the four years of marriage.

During that time, while still underage (living in North Carolina), I was raped. When I returned home, my husband immediately called the elders and it became a judicial committee. They “handled it” the same way they handle pedophile cases. I was reminded (as I had already been told in regards to my husband’s abuse) that contacting the police “would bring reproach upon Jehovah’s name” and it was “discerned” that in my case, it was not rape, since I could not recall whether or not I had screamed or said “no”. (It is assumed that I was drugged as I was not fully conscious, hence difficulty with remembering details to satisfy the elder’s questions.)

They reproved me for the rape, and later I was disfellowshipped for being unrepentant when I kicked out my abusive husband who continued abuse, including raping me himself that night (to prove that he still claimed me as wife, instead of exercising his ‘right’ to divorce me).

I don’t know what is and is not a legal case but I wanted to offer my support, and my ‘case’ if there should be one, in the fight against the Watchtower’s horrific handling of children in the congregation who have been abused. I understand your cases focus on pedophila, and mine is different, but just in case it’s something that could be used against this awful organization, I wanted to reach out to you. Continue reading

Jehovah’s Witness elder Stephen Robert Carter, 70, jailed for historic sex abuse

She described the deep psychological trauma she had lived with as an adult as a result of his controlling and manipulative sexual abuse in the family home.

She explained the difficulty of living under a “burden of secrecy”, unable to tell anyone about what Carter did to her because of the effect it would have on his high standing within the Nelson Jehovah’s Witness congregation.

Carter had admitted seven charges, including representative charges of rape, sodomy, inducing a girl under 12 to do an indecent act, permitting a girl under 12 to do an indecent act on another male, and counts of committing an indecency with an animal, and being party to an indecency with an animal. Travis Foote — Watchtower Pedophile, Murderer and My Babysitter

As a child my sister and I were placed in the care of a pedophile in our congregation—Meet Travis Foote who, with his wife, baby sat us kids.

Travis raped his two daughters (younger than Heather and I who were in our early teens).

He later is convicted and sentenced when he, with another man, raped, beaten, and then throw a woman over a bridge left for dead.

She survived the 35-foot fall with a broken neck and brought Travis to a measure of justice.

Travis Foote — Watchtower Pedophile, Murderer and My Babysitter

Travis Foote — Watchtower Pedophile, Murderer and My Babysitter

Travis Foote raped his two daughters… and then…

I didn’t learn about Travis until after I’d moved away from home. I moved to Texas, the Foote’s moved to Oklahoma.

Travis had sex repeatedly with his own nieces who were barely ‘old enough to bleed’.

Back home, Travis and his family (his wife Michelle and their children) were in our congregation.

My mother let us stay over at their place. She thought it was okay because Michelle, his wife, was around. Yet we weren’t allowed to play at our friend’s homes if they had older brothers.

I once threw a milkshake on him at the dinner table for something he did to me under the table, literally. I got sent to my room for the milkshake incident. Funny how things work out, huh?

No one knew about Michelle’s daughters being raped. He wasn’t convicted of raping his daughters because no one brought that to the police.

(See Watchtower related policies which protect predators inside the congregation.)

It’s just a side fact in another case, where his “former wife, Michelle Finney, testified that Petitioner had told her that he had had sexual relations with other young girls. She further testified that Petitioner had told her about his sexual fantasies involving young girls. See TR III at 634-648.”

Michelle testifies “told her he had tried to have intercourse with H. F., his cousin who was then twelve or thirteen years old, but that “it hurt her and he had to stop.”” (see court appeal Travis filed)

He had sex with the other cousin, A.F. prior to her being 15 years old.

Michelle found a note from her to Travis stating “she didn’t regret what had happened between them”.

He had sex with another girl, Tamara when she was 15 or 16. Later she becomes his girlfriend.

At the trial her then 11 year old niece testifies as the star witness, detailing Travis’ abuse of her when she was seven years old.

Travis Foote

Foote does not dispute:

In a charging information filed on December 16, 2003,…

Petitioner was charged with the offenses of

  1. Rape in the First Degree,
  2. Forcible Oral Sodomy, and
  3. Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill.

The charges … involve a violent sexual assault of a female victim by two men.

The victim was taken by the men in a pick-up truck to a remote location in Pottawatomie County where she was raped, beaten, and then thrown over a bridge.

The victim survived the attack, although she sustained serious injuries in the approximately 35-foot fall from the bridge, including a broken neck … [After an initial mistrial],… Petitioner was charged with the offenses of

  1. Rape in the First Degree,
  2. Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill, and
  3. Kidnapping …

[T]he jury found Petitioner guilty of all three counts and recommended sentences of thirty years, twenty years, and ten years, respectively.

Dateline NBC has followed the continuing saga of accusations of sexual child abuse—pedophila—for more than a decade now.

Most Jehovah’s Witnesses are completely unaware of the circumstances of the other congregations rampant worldwide also facing allegations of child abuse. The reason? Members of the congregation are not made aware of child predators in the congregation. Child abuse is handled by ‘the brothers’ as a ‘sin’ rather than as a criminal act. Children who would come forward with an accusation of abuse will be met with the scripture which the Watchtower uses to mishandle all such cases—as well as in use for domestic abuse / violence cases—The Watchtower tries to shift responsibility for this policy to God and the Bible. Child Checks Victoria on Children Check

A child in Victoria, Australia pooled his pocket money together with three other buddies in order to pay $69.70 to launch a private criminal prosecution against the Jehovah’s Witnesses of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society in February.

The Victorian and Civil Administrative Tribunal heard a religious vilification complaint against the Watchtower by Mr. Unthank in May, after the Watchtower said people who left the Watchtower, as he had, were ”mentally diseased”. Continue reading

ANONYMOUS and Watchtower Serial Pedophiles of San Diego

Anonymous

This post is prompted tonight by my personal experience with…

“not bringing reproach upon Jehovah’s organization”.

Most Jehovah’s Witnesses

have no idea there are 24,000+ pedophiles who have hidden among the silent lambs

in their congregations…

San Diego ABC 10 News reported obtaining video of admitted child molester Jehovah’s Witness Gonzalo Campos.

“I did abuse him,” said Campos in the video. “I touched his private parts.

Testimony of Gonzalo Campos

Accused JW pedophile confession on camera released by San Diego ABC 10 News.

Team 10 asked if Zalkin believed it’s widely known that there are sexual abuse problems inside Jehovah’s Witnesses.

“No, no and it needs to be brought to the public’s attention,” Zalkin said. “They have been operating in secrecy and at will for decades.”

Apostate means to Turn Away from God, not The Watchtower

“‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”

“‘Jehovah’—because of people’s familiarity with it since the 14th century. Moreover, it preserves, equally with other forms, the four letters of the tetragrammaton JHVH.” — The Watchtower defends “shallow scholarship” in response to “Jehovah Not Correct as God’s Name”

YHWH = JHVH ?

If you meet a Jehovah’s Witness they’ll tell you God’s name is Jehovah, and they probably don’t even know that it’s not true.

They probably whole heartedly believe that what they were taught was “the truth” and that it is a life-saving message that they bring to you.

Go easy on them. I know how much it hurts to learn you’ve been lied to all your life.

So, please if you can, help in this campaign:

  • explain how the letter “J” came to be only recently, and
  • how “hovah” is a real word that’s actually in the scriptures, but it doesn’t mean what they have been told that it does:

Disaster [hovah] after disaster [hovah] will comeand there will be rumor after rumorThen they will seek a vision from a prophetbut instruction will perish from the priestsand counsel from the elders.”

Hitler and The Watchtower

“Did Hitler receive letters of protest from church officials concerning the outrages perpetrated by the National Socialists, or Nazis? There were some, but such letters were few and far between. In the Moscow archives, however, Eberle found a file containing a number of letters sent to Hitler by Jehovah’s Witnesses from different parts of Germany, protesting against the conduct of the Nazis.” — Watchtower 2011 Oct 1 p.14

No Social Networking Until You Have A Plan In Order

“I shall use subliminal mind control to take over the world …. [A subliminal message] is a recorded message perceived only be the subconscious human mind. I have recorded such a message. [The message is:] Citizens of the world. You are under my control. You will do whatever I say! … If people heard this message enough times, they would succumb to my control and we could take over the world … the only problem: how to get his message repeated worldwide airplay … Country music! … I will go to Nashville and become the biggest country music star of all time. Everyone will hear my record and my subliminal message and I will take over the world!

My parents have twice ‘disowned’ me for being disfellowshipped from the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses under the ecclesiastical authority of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. (for profit corporation) and the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania (non-stock, not-for-profit organization).

I spent a year in emotional silence — speaking only to people I’d meet or work with, but none of my family or friends — when I was 20 years old after divorcing my abusive husband whom “the organization” gave me no help to escape. They disfellowshipped me, after ignoring repeated attempts for help.

That was the Mooresville congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. That congregation was so bad that it wasn’t just me being abused and punished by the ‘elders’, but it was also my girls friends. S, T, A, and me. Four women married, abused, and rebuked for it.

Then I was reinstated a year later, and thus given family support again. But for what? Our love was broken. I no longer believed that my mother loved me “unconditionally” as she would say. It was clearly a conditional unconditional love. A fact she still cannot conceive of today.

I moved west and kept moving, matching the distance to my family’s heart with distance in miles on the map. I spent six years in Seattle where I was disfellowshipped again.

My mother has no idea who I am as a person. I was emancipated as a minor at 15 years old when I left her home. (It was simply a legal function to protect my ability to care for myself while traveling and done in accordance with my mother’s guidance.)

She has no idea what I do, how I care for myself, and who I am.

This is an email from my mother which one day will shame her.

For now, I have to get back to work, “Social Networking”… Continue reading

SB 131 Allows Victims of Childhood Sexual Abuse to Seek Justice

Lawmakers say the bill corrects a Supreme Court case that, because the statute of limitations had been reached, denied a narrow group of child sex-abuse victims the right sue religious organizations, private and nonprofit groups that employed their abusers.

“If we didn’t do it, the law would still be invalid and the people would waiting on the legislature to see if we wanted to correct the law,” said Sen. Jim Beall.

Under the proposed law, victims over the age of 26 in 2003 will have a chance to file lawsuits during a one-year period.

On October 13, 2013 Governor Jerry Brown has refused to sign SB 131 into Californian law.

Brown studied to become a Catholic priest as a young man. This will doubtless fuel debate as to Brown’s motivations for turning down the bill. Kathleen Conti, a keen supporter of SB 131, expressed her sorrow this morning. “It is extremely disappointing that our Governor has allowed powerful deep-pocketed religious leaders, influential religious lobbyists and law firms to cloud the real issue here, which is the right of abuse victims to pursue justice for crimes committed against them,” she said. “Subpoenaed documents clearly show that certain religious institutions have been fully aware of the danger posed to children by pedophiles within their own ranks, but have kept things secret and handled matters internally instead of warning parents and letting the proper authorities handle perpetrators. I find it distressing that congregants will continue to not only attend but also financially support such morally bankrupt institutions who claim to have God’s blessing while at the same time being guilty of concealing crimes against children.”

Apostasy Defined by Watchtower

Apostasy, as defined by the Watchtower, is “a baptized Christian [who] abandons the teachings of Jehovah, as presented by the faithful and discreet slave, and persists in believing other doctrine”.

So specifically it is all Christians who believe the scriptures, as the teachings “of Jehovah” as taught by “the faithful and discreet slave” are often in conflict with what the scriptures teach. (1 Tim 6:3-5)

The scriptures say, “the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.”

For example, the scriptures say: “…the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended” (Rev 20:5) while the Watchtower teaches “the general resurrection takes place on earth during Christ’s Millennial Reign.” (Resurrection, The Reasoning Book, rs p. 333-p. 340)

The Watchtower teaches the “resurrection takes place on earth during Christ’s Millennial Reign.”

To believe the scriptures—the inspired Word of God—over what the Watchtower teaches is‚ according to them, to be an apostate. (2 Tim 3:16, Acts 17:11)

Thus, if you are a Jehovah’s Witness who believes the scriptures instead of the Watchtower, you will be disfellowshipped. Continue reading

Runaway Girl: Escaping Life on the Streets, One Helping Hand at a Time, Carissa Phelps

An astonishing story of triumph and a fierce determination to give back.

Carissa Phelps was a runner. By twelve, she had run away from home, dropped out of school, and fled blindly into the arms of a brutal pimp, who made her walk the hard streets of central California. But even when she escaped him, she could not outrun the crushing inner pain of abuse, neglect, and abandonment. With little to hope for, she expected to end up in prison, or worse.

But then her life was transformed through the unexpected kindness of a teacher and a counselor. Miraculously, by the time Carissa turned thirty, she had accomplished the unimaginable, graduating from UCLA with both a law degree and an MBA. She had left the streets behind, yet her path would eventually draw her back, this time working to help homeless and at-risk youth find their own paths to a better life.

This is Carissa’s story, the tale of a girl who lost herself and survived, against all odds, through the generosity of strangers. It is an inspiring true story about finding the courage to run toward healing and summoning the strength to light the way for others.

Key will come from apple overnight. Hilarious. You get to see my sisters more than me. Guess you’re in.

Oh. We have to install a — well, you know, if you want — an electric keypad lock on room 10. The key killed the weekend so I could be resurrected. Have to be low to stand. Research the word resurrection? I thought it meant something totally diff than I thought before I was given the epiphany.

I am around! Had friends in town from SF since last Sunday….and then of course the fires have distracted me. Still reading the Message. Loving it!
In work related news, our account manager asked about your reservation. I never ran charges on your card. Did you collect from Tikva? Is it okay if she runs your card? Didn’t want her doing it without checking with you first.

Wow! I have been so deceived by the New Age Movement. I am so happy that you led me back to Jesus. I’m still in shock of how “enlightened” I thought I was and how blindly I was following Lucifer. Yikes! I am so grateful for you encouraging me to read the bible. Thank God! Do you go to Church or where do you find community?

Eternity
Loving life so much
You’d not do anything to be there

The smoke gets in your eyes
Then you want to live on earth

So what’d you do to leave
The sea of man
Would you swim to heaven?

They say there was a tree
On which they’d feed
And you wanted to get back here

But gone with a song
That made you want to sing along
From that muppet who had blue hair

You heard of a mountain
You saw it by his very hand once
Daddy warned you this would happen

He’d give anything to be here

One day, if anything they say is true
Does that mean he’ll never remember
Those things that I do?

As they measure craziness
I measure life

To thine own self be true
Only works if you believe that he’s in you

The spirit is fine,
As long as its divine?

No it’s not by proof
It’s by faith

It’s not a question
It’s an answer

Its not asking
It’s knowing

Not needing
But receiving

It’s about hope
It’s about humanity

Or spiritual hierarchy

Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?,” those who claim authority as the faithful and discreet slave say 1914.

Only it’s been proven that they are not, in fact, the faithful and discreet slave. And now I’m not quite certain — what did happen in 1914?

We know Christ didn’t come visibly. Why do I care about his coming invisibly?

Also, if the prophecy is regarding the earthly throne being vacated, then wouldn’t the fulfillment require the advent of the earthly kingdom?

The 2,520 years began in October 607 B.C.E., when Jerusalem fell to the Babylonians and the Davidic king was taken off his throne. The period ended in October 1914. At that time, “the appointed times of the nations” ended, and Jesus Christ was installed as God’s heavenly King.*Psalm 2:1-6; Daniel 7:13, 14.

I thought Christ sat down at his father’s right hand on the throne when he arrived as the resurrected firstborn of heaven?
